Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s time to figure out how you’re going to celebrate. You can’t go wrong with one of these six frightening and unforgettable Halloween activities.

Meijer Candy Run

Who needs to trick-or-treat when we have Meijer? Find some friends and go grab as much candy as you can carry. Bonus points for anyone who goes in costume.

Haunted house

If you’re looking for something to give you never ending nightmares, The Haunt is the place for you. Grand Rapids’ only haunted house has recently been re-designed and is promised to be “bigger, better, more insane than ever!” There are four different terrifying attractions filled with everything from zombies to ghosts. Check it out if you dare!

Pumpkin Carving

Plan a night in with your best buds and carve some goofy faces into America’s favorite gourds. If you’re looking to really show your Laker pride this Halloween, check out these GVSU pumpkin carving patterns.

Scary Movie Marathon

Grab some candy and friends for a night filled with horrors. Netflix offers lots of terrifying films that will leave you traumatized, and isn’t that what Halloween is all about?

Trick-or-Treating

If you’re on a budget and buying candy from Meijer isn’t in your financial plans, go trick-or-treating! Age is just a number, and free candy is a blessing that should be enjoyed by people of all ages. Throw on your most creative of costumes and head to your nearest neighborhood. Best of all, you can be in bed by 8:15 p.m.

Ghosts of Grand Rapids Tour

Did you know that Grand Rapids is haunted? If you think you can handle the horror, check out one of GR’s spooky walking tours. Each experience blends history of the city with the paranormal world. All tours start at the Grand Rapids Public Library, and you can purchase tickets online. You’ll get to explore downtown, learn about its history, and discover the evil spirits that lurk around our beautiful city.

It’s the most frightening time of the year, and there are lots of ways that Lakers can get in the spirit. Check out GV’s events calendar for more happenings on campus, and have a spooktacular Halloween!
