GR College Week

Down the road from Allendale Campus lies the magical city of Grand Rapids. We’ve already detailed all the reasons why we love GR, and luckily, the city loves us back. This week (September 10 to 16), Grand Rapids welcomes all the college students in the area with GR College Week, dedicated to showing students the highlights of the city and inviting them into the community.
All week long, GR is celebrating YOU. Meet other college students in the area, discover favorite spots, and take advantage of the many discounts available with your student I.D.! Check out these events:
Mixer at the Knickerbocker - September 12 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
New Holland's Knickerbocker Lounge is providing free entertainment, appetizers, and soft drinks for all college students the night of September 12. Grab your friends and come down to the gateway to Grand Rapids' Westside. The Knickerbocker also has an incredible seasonal menu of delicious food available for purchase, along with a full drink menu.

GR Respect - September 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
GR Respect is a mini workshop series on how to be a citizen in the city of Grand Rapids. Resources will be available from the city of Grand Rapids to give students information on a variety of different subjects from navigating bus routes, renting in the city of GR, to financial planning.

GR Connect - September 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
GR Connect is a networking event that aims to connect students with local employers. Whether you are looking for a full-time job after graduation, an internship, or just want to make some connections, GR Connect gives you an opportunity to do so in a fun, unique setting.

GR Unwind on September 15
Head over to Aquinas' gorgeous campus to enjoy a free Yoga session. There are two times that sessions will be running: 9 - 10 a.m. and 10:15 - 11:15 a.m.

GR Live on September 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Relax on-campus at Aquinas! Enjoy dinner and snacks from food trucks, while hammocking and listening to live music from 4:30 - 8 p.m.!

GR Smile on September 15 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hosted at Calvin College, GR Smile is a night of laughter and fun featuring Preacher Lawson, who describes himself as “a stand-up comedian, actor, singer, human, professional black guy.” He may best be known for being a finalist on the 12th season (2017) of America’s Got Talent. Tickets are $15 in advance or $10 at the door with any local college I.D.!
