IMPORTANT NOTE

The Federal Government announced an end to the Federal Perkins loan program in 2017. Due to the closure of the program, along with Grand Valley’s transitioning to an entirely new student platform system, these loans will no longer be with Grand Valley.

Given those circumstances Grand Valley State University intends to liquidate and close-out its Federal Perkins Loan Program. As part of this liquidation process, your Federal Perkins loans(s) will be assigned and transferred to the U.S. Department of Education.

Once the assignment of your Federal Perkins Loan(s) to the U.S. Department of Education is complete, you will receive notification from Education Computer Systems Inc. (ECSI). ECSI is the government’s designated, Federal Perkins Loan Servicer. ECSI will provide information on where to send your loan payments as well as contact information for assistance going forward.

Please note that if you have signed up for ACH automatic monthly payments, that these auto payments will be stopped and removed from our system. Once ECSI reaches out, you will want to contact them as to what options they have regarding automatic payments, monthly payments, and due dates.

To find out if your loan has been accepted by ECSI, or with any questions you may have, please call 616-331-2209 or email at [email protected].

SCAM ALERT:

Students, please be aware of a recent loan forgiveness scam.  Students have reported a phone call from a Wisconsin area code (262) stating that their loans are in default and that they have options available for them.  This is NOT a reliable resource for you.  View your federal loan status.  If you have questions, please contact us directly at (616) 331-3234 or [email protected].
