For the health and safety of the Grand Valley community, President Philomena V. Mantella announced March 17 that remote academic instruction will continue through April 25.

First-year students Taylor McMiller and Brody Conaty loaded up their clothes and other items to head back to Detroit and Grand Ledge, respectively.

McMiller said her 5-year-old brother, Donavan, who came to help, is happy she's moving home to Detroit for the rest of the semester, but not happy about sharing a bedroom again.

Housing and Residence Life created a move-out process where students can sign up to select a date that works best for their needs. Check-out is self-serve with printed instructions.

The move-out process is expected to take about 11 days with a limited amount of people allowed to move out each day.

Hand sanitizer has been placed at check-out locations. Students are encouraged to bring a minimal number of family and friends to assistance with move out.
