Sustainability Week events include 'Walk with the President'

Plogging, or picking up trash while jogging, is one of several events that will kick off Sustainability Week, which runs from September 30 through October 5.

The week's events will also feature a walk with President Philomena V. Mantella and student poster presentations about sustainability around the world.

Event highlights are below; a complete schedule can be found at gvsu.edu/sustainability.

September 30: Plogging for Sustainability (picking up trash while jogging), 4:30 p.m., meet by the Calder Fine Arts Center.

October 1: Sustainability & Energy Competition Tabling, Kirkhof Center, 3-4:40 p.m.; Calculating Your Water Footprint, 2-3 p.m., Holton-Hooker Multipurpose Room.

October 2: Farmers Market, parking lot G, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

October 3: Blender Bike Bash with the Student Environmental Coalition, near Kleiner Basketball Court, 6:30-8 p.m.

October 4: Walk with the President, Cook Carillon Tower, 10 a.m.; Wellness Fair, Kirkhof Center, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Global Grove, Sustainable Agriculture Project, 3 p.m.

October 5: Zero Waste Football Game, Lubbers Stadium, 7 p.m.
