Teams representing four colleges will compete in the Laker Effect Challenge and present ideas that will make lasting changes to communities.

The Laker Effect Challenge is set for Thursday, November 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the Mary Idema Pew Library, multipurpose room. It is open to the campus community and the public, and approved for LIB 100/201 courses.

Presenters from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Kirkhof College of Nursing, Padnos College of Engineering and Computing, and the College of Health Professions, along with their community partners, will have five minutes to present ideas. Judges will decide how the $5,000 prize money will be distributed among presenters.

Seven people will compete in a poster competition with a top prize of $500.

Details are online at gvsu.edu/challenge; the competition began in October with online voting through October 31.
