The second day of the Hauenstein Center's Common Ground summit is underway in Loosemore Auditorium, kicked off by Matthew Woessner, a conservative scholar from Penn State University.

Woessner began the day with a presentation titled 'Bridging the Ideological Divide: Fostering True Diversity in Higher Education." He spoke about trends and patterns in higher education, and how faculty members who tend to have conservative beliefs could most successfully interact with more liberal-leaning higher education institutions.

Other speakers scheduled throughout the day include Grand Valley faculty members Erika King, Quincy Williams, and Judy Whipps who discussed "Perspectives on the State of Liberal Arts."

Speakers continue throughout the day, including Eva Brann (noon-1:30), Stephen Rowe (1:45-3:15), Bradley Birzer (3:30-4:45) and a keynote with Robert George from 7-8:30 p.m.
