The founder of the Arab American Institute will discuss his latest book and also share his insight on the political strife in Egypt during a presentation at Grand Valley.
James Zogby, founder and president of the AAI, will center his talk around his latest book, Arab Voices: What They Are Saying to Us and Why It Matters.
Zogby's presentation is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, 1 p.m., Kirkhof Center, room 2204. The event is free and open to the public.
Zogby's presentation is sponsored by Grand Valley’s Middle East Studies Department, William Baum Lecture Series, Padnos International Center and the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies.
The AAI, based in Washington, D.C., serves as the political and policy research arm of the Arab American community. For 30 years, Zogby has been involved in a range of Arab American issues. He served as chair of the Palestine Human Rights Campaign in the 1970s, co-founded Save Lebanon, Inc. in 1982, then founded AAI in 1985.
Zogby's other books are What Ethnic Americans Really Think and What Arabs Think: Values, Beliefs and Concerns. A book signing will follow his presentation.
