The recent issues surrounding COVID-19 require us to adhere to best practices. For the safety and well-being of the GVSU community, all Community Outreach Weeks events scheduled for Saturday, March 21 - Saturday, March 28 have been canceled.

Breaking Bread, LaSalle’s ministry of hospitality reaches out to hungry and homeless individuals and families in the Chicago community. Each Wednesday evening, they serve a home-cooked meal to more than 100 guests. In the spirit of Community Outreach Week, we are bringing together GVSU alumni to help cook and serve meals.
Please arrive wearing long pants and close toed shoes. You will be asked to wear a hairnet and gloves in the kitchen. Tasks will include cooking (under the guidance of a head chef), serving, and cleaning up at the end of the evening. There will also be plenty of opportunities to interact with the individuals there.
