Convocation is a campus-wide event that provides students an opportunity to celebrate the time-honored tradition of beginning a new academic year. Faculty, staff, administration, and Board of Trustee members process into the Fieldhouse Arena in full academic regalia. This popular ceremony bookends the experience for graduates as they process at their graduation. Convocation is incorporated into our new student orientation program called Transitions.

Convocation is coordinated by the Office of Student Life, a part of the Division of Student Services of Grand Valley State University.
