Welcome to the Community Impact Initiative: A Partnership with the United Way. This three-pronged initiative approaches the partnership between Grand Valley State University and the Heart of West Michigan United Way in a unique and intersectional manner. Titled with a verb, each aspect of the initiative is engineered to engage various stakeholder groups across the University community.
Grand Valley State University is dedicated to providing the highest quality experiential learning opportunities for our students. These opportunities, such as internships, equip students with valuable workplace and industry skills learned in real work environments. We are continuously working to develop partnerships and experiential learning opportunities with United Way partner agencies.
United Way works with businesses and nonprofit organizations to address complex challenges in our communities. These partners contribute ideas, volunteer power, in-kind support and more are helping build stronger communities. Throughout the year, Grand Valley partners with these agencies, providing our students with valuable volunteer experiences.
