Monika Binder teaches first-year writing. With a background in secondary education, she enjoys working with first-year students as they navigate the transition to college. Monika studied secondary English education at Hope College, where she served on the leadership team for the college’s writing center. After this, she spent several years teaching middle and high school English. Her favorite high school class to teach was AP Research, and today she serves as an AP Research National Exam Reader. Monika earned her master’s degree in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum with an emphasis in English Education from the University of Missouri. When not in class, you can find Monika hanging out with her husband and cats, traveling, or listening to an audiobook.
