The Writing Department will host Fulbright Scholar, Chu Dongwei, on February 21st. He will deliver a lecture, "The Myth of Translating Chinese Literature," from 1-2:15p in Kirkhof 2266.
The Grand Valley Writers Series, which brings award-winning authors from around the world to campus each year, continues for the winter season with a showcase of works by two Grand Valley faculty members: Amorak Huey and Caitlin Horrocks.
Professor Amorak Huey will be awarded with a Creative Writing Fellowship for his work in poetry from the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA).

Professor Stolley comes to GVSU after working as the Writing Program Director at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. She will take over as Director of First-Year Writing at GVSU in January.
Solnit's lecture on November 14 at 7pm will discuss the artist and activist's role in attending to that which goes unseen in American cities because it involves the wrong people, place, or story.
