Women and Sustainability
Resources and What We Can Do Take simple steps to practice sustainable living:
Shop Fair Trade – there are local shops, The Bridge in Holland, as well as Global Infusion in Grand Rapids. Many online stores also exist.
Buy Locally – Find a farmers market or co-op to join, buy from those in the local area and promote healthy eating as well as producing practices
Reduce your Carbon Footprint - Find out how at www.whatsmycarbonfootprint.com, carpool and support public transportation
Unplug your Appliances – It may seem simple, but it lowers your bills and safes energy.
Get Involved in your Community – Start/Join a Community Garden
Promote Sustainable Policies – Encourage your politicians to pass sustainable laws, such as fair trade promotion, or safer health/working standards.
