Grand Valley State University at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center in Traverse City serves students in the region by providing selected undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Traverse City and Sault Ste. Marie.
The Traverse City Regional Center of Grand Valley brings the quality of a GVSU education to the residents of the northern region. Established in 1995 as charter member of the Northwestern Michigan College's University Center, Grand Valley offers a broad range of programs for students.
Full-time faculty members teach, advise, and conduct research in the region. In addition to the faculty, the Traverse City staff provide comprehensive services for students enrolled in 'Up North' programs as well as those students who plan to attend one of the campuses downstate.
Traverse City Programs and Majors
Grand Valley State University offers a liberal education focus, emphasizing critical thinking, creative problem solving, and cultural understanding. At the undergraduate level, Grand Valley partners with Northwestern Michigan College allowing students to complete all requirements for their undergraduate degrees in Traverse City.
