The College of Health Professions Student Services Office (SSO) is available to assist prospective students and their families with an introduction to the university and the College of Health professions (CHP). In addition, we are available to help undergraduate and graduate students with academic advising and general program planning.

The College of Health Professions houses 5 undergraduate majors: Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Professions, Radiologic and Imaging Sciences, Occupational Safety & Health Management, and Therapeutic Recreation; and a clinical doctoral degree in Physical Therapy; and master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies. The SSO provides advising for all eight programs within the college.

Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor soon after arriving on campus and to consult with them regularly. Individual meetings with advisors are the best forum for discussing educational interests and goals, possible majors, course progress, or concerns.
The majority of advising appointment are conducted at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences (CHS) in downtown Grand Rapids, however a limited number of appointments are available on the Allendale campus on selected days.
Students are encouraged to arrive on time and come prepared to actively participate in their advising session.
