This October More Than 60 Network TV Shows to Spotlight Service
As announced earlier this summer, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (or EIF, the leading Hollywood charity) has created a multi-year campaign called I PARTICIPATE to help make service and volunteerism a national priority. The campaign will kick off with a week-long television event running from October 19 - 25, 2009. Read more here!
"The View" on ABC Searches for America's Ultimate Volunteer
In conjunction with EIF's I PARTICIPATE campaign kick off, "The View" has launched a search for America's "Ultimate Volunteer." Viewers have been asked to nominate individuals who go above and beyond to help others in their community and who inspire others to action. The winner, to be announced live on "The View" on October 19, will be chosen from 10 finalists by viewers featured October 6 through October 12.
Submissions are accepted until September 29. To nominate someone, viewers can visit www.abc.com/theview where they will need to submit a 250-word essay explaining why their nominee deserves to be named America's "Ultimate Volunteer." The winner will receive one million Starpoints from the SPG loyalty program of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, plus $10,000 cash. Read more here!
