On Saturday, January 21, 2017, over 100 students served with a variety of nonprofit organizations in the West Michigan area. Students received a keynote address in the morning to start their day.

In March of 2016, a group of students went to the At-Tawheed Masjid Mosque in Grand Rapids. Students volunteered at the Masjid food pantry, as well as observed afternoon services at the Mosque. This project was done in partnership with the Kaufman Interfaith Institute and as part of GVSU Community Outreach Week.

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, over 100 students went into the Grand Rapids community to serve alongside a variety of nonprofit organizations. Students also received a keynote address to conclude their day.
2015 Make a Difference Day (22 Photos)
Over 260 students gathered on October 17th to serve a variety of nonprofit agencies in West Michigan. Participants were addressed by GVSU President, Thomas J. Haas, as well as the mayor of Grand Rapids, George Heartwell. Students had a great experience serving in their community, while also learning more about the agency and issue they were working with.
Each fall, the Michigan Department of State comes to campus with their Mobile Secretary of State unit to register students to vote. Getting in the habit of voting in each election is a great way to stay involved in your community while at GVSU and beyond.
Over 70 nonprofit agencies came to GVSU over 2 days in September to talk with GVSU students about volunteer and internship opportunities. This event happens once per semester and is a great way to get connected with a nonprofit agency in West Michigan.
