The Dance Marathon Planning Board is charged with successfully planning the annual Dance Marathon fundraiser.

Information about each position is listed below:

Board Chairperson
Obtain and communicate a vision of Dance Marathon; delegate effectively to the Dance Marathon planning board through challenges and obstacles;support the board officers through initiative and team building. Work closely with the Dance Marathon GVSU Advisors, Dance Marathon Specialist, and Children's Miracle Network Hospital Director.

Catering
Coordinate the provision and preparation of all accommodations, food, and drink for all Dance Marathon needs, create the menu for Dance Marathon meals including drinks and snacks, and solicit in-kind food donations from area businesses.

Communications
Facilitate both internal and external board communication such as minute taking and reporting, plan informational meetings and act as the liaison for other student organizations.  This officer is resonsible for picking up mail in the SOC and maintaing communication with the Children's Miracle Network.

Dancer Relations
Establish, publish and enforce all rules and policies for Dance Marathon. In addition, oversee dancer registration, canning, poster distribution and bathroom breaks. Work with the Emergency Medical Technicians, security team, and judges.

Entertainment
Create and control the Dance Marathon schedule, recruit radio stations, DJs, and local talent and regulate volume to combat fatigue.

Facilities
Take responsibility for the logistics of the site where the Dance Marathon will occur. In addition to turning the location into the Dance Marathon site, the scheduling and storage of deliveries from sponsors falls under this committee.

Family Relations
Help to make children and their families an integral part of Dance Marathon, be the liaison between the Dance Marathon committees and the Miracle Families and hold a reception to kick off Family Relations

Financial
Oversee all Dance Marathon finances, set and manage the overall budget and motivate groups and individuals to raise money

Marketing
Manage all efforts to solicit donations from local and regional businesses, gather donations to fulfill all needs lists and present creative ideas that truly sell Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon to target businesses.

Morale
Design activities, theme hours, games and a line dance to keep dancers motivated throughout the event, and recruit a committee of morale captains who will share the enthusiasm and excitement for Dance Marathon with all the dancers.

Public Relations
Generate Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon awareness on a local and regional level by creating and distributing press kits.
