I am Grand Valley Campaign

Eligibility/Requirements: Any Grand Valley student leader who displays and utilizes strong leadership skills to contribute to the campus and beyond

Nomination Process: To nominate someone, fill out the form on the website and include a short paragraph (350 characters or less) on how that nominee exhibits leadership skills

Michigan Volunteer Recognition Programs

Michigan Campus Compact Outstanding Student Service Awards

Eligibility/Requirements: Students are eligible for any of the three awards:

The OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD honors up to five undergraduate and one graduate student in Michigan who have made service an integral part of their college experience by their significant contribution to community resources.  The recipient’s efforts build partnerships between their campuses and communities to demonstrate personal reflection and a commitment to lifelong engagement.

The COMMITMENT TO SERVICEAWARD recognizes one student per MCC member campus for either the breadth or the depth of his/her community involvement or service experience(s) and the demonstration of meaningful reflection.  Recipients, for example, may have devoted multiple years to one program or have demonstrated their leadership by making multiple contributions to her/his institution and community through community service involvement.

The HEART AND SOUL AWARD recognizes undergraduate and graduate students for their time, effort and personal commitment to their community through service.

Application Process: Process will be outlined in the Instruction Packet, available in late November

Governor’s Service Awards
Eligibility/Requirements: Many different awards available; see GSA website for complete list and description
Nomination Process: To nominate someone, download the form from the GSA website; nominees will have to complete a background check
Nominations Due: February 2010 (date subject to change)

 

Hero Central
Eligibility/Requirements: None
Nomination Process: On the website simply fill out a “Hero Story” for someone you wish to nominate

National Volunteer Recognition Programs


Presidential Service Awards Program
Eligibility/Requirements:
For students: Bronze level= 100-174 hours of service, silver level= 175-249 hours, gold level= 250+ hours
Application Process: Go to the website, click “Track Your Hours”, then create your record of service

Platinum Torch National Service Honorary

Eligibility/Requirements: Registered student

Application Process: To become a member, fill out the application on the website. Members can track service hours completed and are eligible for various service level awards.
