Valerie Jones
Assistant Director of Student Life- Leadership & Service Initiatives

Valerie Jones joined the GVSU Office of Student Life staff in August 2008 as one of several Assistant Directors. She directly oversees the Laker Leadership Programs and the Community Service Learning Center staff, programs, and resources. Additionally, Valerie serves as a resource for all Service & Advocacy groups on campus and is the direct advisor of several service organizations at GVSU, including Alternative Breaks. Prior to arriving at GVSU, Valerie spent several years working in a service and leadership office at a private university in Miami, FL.  Valerie earned her undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University and M.Ed in College Student Affairs Leadership at GVSU. She is originally from the Grand Rapids area and is delighted to be a part of the Office of Student Life team and work with GVSU students!

 
Bunmi Fadase
Community Service Learning Center - Coordinator
 
Olubunmi (Bunmi) Fadase is an alumna of GVSU where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public & Nonprofit Administration with an emphasis in Public Personnel Management. She has served as Coordinator of the CSLC for the past year and has enjoyed encouraging students to see the value in service to the community. Bunmi manages the undergraduate CSLC staff that serve as consultants and receptionists in the CSLC. She is also a Michigan Campus Compact representative, administering the Michigan Service Scholars Program. Bunmi is also a part-time graduate student in the Masters in Public Administration program with a focus on Nonprofit Management & Leadership. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends.
 
Joshua Lee
Community Service Learning Center - Graduate Assistant

Joshua Lee is a recent alumnus of Saint Cloud State University in Saint Cloud, MN. He graduated with honors studying Earth Sciences and Geology. Joshua was highly involved with Residential Life, Greek Life, and Intramurals while an undergrad. He also enjoyed numerous philanthropic and service learning opportunities by volunteering at community organizations such as the Salvation Army, Place of Hope, Kids Against Hunger, and Catholic Charities. Joshua is looking forward to finding new experiences while he attends GVSU in the College Student Affairs Leadership master's program. Once graduated from GVSU in 2011, Joshua will pursue a career in Student Affairs with an ambition to become a University president.
 
Kevin Kimball
Community Service Learning Center– Student Manager
Kevin is a Junior at Grand Valley working on his Bachelor's of Science in Health Professions. He is a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, and he is the current community enrichment chairmen for that organization. Kevin has spent the last year as a desk assistant for the Community Service Learning Center and is looking forward to his first year as the CSLC's student manager. After graduating Kevin hopes to pursue a masters degree in physical therapy.
