Community Impact Report Process
Acquiring data about GVSU's community impact through service
In an effort to accurately track the number of service hours performed by Grand Valley State University students, the Office of the Provost has requested your cooperation in acquiring this data as it relates to your unit’s programs and events. Under the direction of the Office of the Provost, the Community Service Learning Center (CSLC) has been charged with the responsibility of collecting this data from all non-academic units and registered student organizations. (Note that the Office of the Provost directly collects academic service-learning hours from all colleges). This data collection is used for several university-wide mandatory surveys and important award applications including:
 
™       Campus Compact’s national survey
™       President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll (GVSU was honored in February 2008 for service contributed in the 2007-2008 academic year)
 
Timeline for Reporting
 
™       Starting Fall 2009, this data collection process will occur twice annually
™       Requested deadlines for submission are:
·          Fall semester: December 1st
·          Winter semester: May 1st
™       E-mail reminders about data acquisition dates will be sent by CSLC Staff
