Summary:
Grand Valley State University School of Accounting in the Seidman College of Business invites applications for an Affiliate Faculty of Practice or Instruction beginning in Fall 2023. Initial appointments are for one year, with potential for one-year renewals for a second year, with potential subsequent three-year renewable appointments, dependent upon department need. Applicants are expected to have earned a Masters degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a closely related field from an AACSB or equivalently accredited institution by August 2023, and be interested in teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. All teaching interests in Accounting will be considered. Salary is competitive. Required Qualifications:

  • M.B.A. or Master’s degree (or higher) in a related field by August 2023.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Evidence of current professional engagement with non-profit or business community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent candidates in any related field will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in areas of teaching needs.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness: in-person, hybrid, online.
  • Exhibited potential to successfully conduct applied research.
  • Exhibited commitment to GVSU’s vision of inclusion and equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Typical teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year with a possible three (3) credit reassignment of time to meet AACSB required research and service responsibilities.
  • Effective teaching at potentially both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, and community commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.
  • Engage in research and professional activities commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.

The College: The L. William Seidman Center opened in 2013 and houses the Seidman College of Business which is fully accredited by AACSB International. Enrollment in Seidman is over 4,000 students, which includes over 500 undergraduate Accounting majors and 60 Masters of Science in Accounting majors.
