Legal and Bioethical Dilemmas Regarding Surrogacy
Date and Time
Wednesday, September 28, 2016 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Description
In the last thirty years, the desire to become a parent has been
achieved in many cases through surrogacy, a phenomenon that has become
a heated issue of law and bioethics. The change in families, due to
historical, social and cultural factors, should induce lawmakers to
address the issue considering the current reality, the most modern
legal literature, and knowledge from the medical sciences. My talk
will describe the complex problems arising in Italy and Michigan from
the current legal framework, and I will offer my recommendations for a
solution.
