GVSU offers a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (MSOT).  The master's program is an intensive two-year, post-baccalaureate program designed for individuals with bachelor's degrees in other academic fields. 

Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree may apply for admission to the OT Program in January of the year the student wishes to be admitted.  Admission is competitive, based on GPA, recommendations, an on-site writing sample and interview, and nature and quality of activities outside of academia.  These include volunteer work, church service, or other activities that give the individual something special or unique to bring to the program.

Upon admission, the student joins a cohort of peers who, together, will embark upon an intense educational experience in which they immerse themselves in the content of occupational therapy and related subjects relevant to practice in this dynamic field.  These subjects include systems theory, ethics, professional roles and attitudes, and concepts related to professional obligations.  In addition, students are expected to complete a major research endeavor and to complete two semesters of full-time fieldwork.
