Only GVSU students, faculty, & staff may rent OAC equipment.

Same Day - Equipment is rented and returned on the same day it is rented. This rental length is not available for all equipment.
Daily - Equipment is returned before noon on the third day of posession. Example: pick up Monday after 12pm, enjoy through Tuesday, return on Wednesday before 12pm.
Weekend - Equipment is picked up on Friday after 12pm and returned Monday before 12pm.
Weekly - Equipment is returned before 12pm on the eigth day of posession. Example: pick up on Monday and due before 12pm the following Tuesday.
The Outdoor Adventure Center is located inside the Climbing Center and operated by its staff.
Rentals are available to GVSU students, faculty, and staff only.
Your G# is required for all rentals and reservations.
All Renters are responsible for checking all equipment before they leave the Outdoor Adventure Center and agree to accept the equipment “as is” once they walk out the door.
The rental process:
Although reserving equipment is not required, it is a great way to ensure equipment is available when you need it. To reserve equipment from the OAC please fill out our Reservation Request Form and fax or bring it to the Outdoor Adventure Center during open hours.
Reservations must be made at least 48 hours and up to 30 days in advance.
Deposits - A deposit equal to each item's daily (or same day if applicable) rental rate is required at the time of reservation. To avoid GVSU's lengthy refund process, a credit card is required for all reservations but will not be charged for the deposit unless cancellation fees apply (see below).
Late Fee - Late fees begin the day after the due date and are assessed at each item's daily rate until the equipment is returned.
Damage Fee - Equipment that is returned with damage deemed by management to have not been caused by average use/ wear will result in a damage fee equal to the total cost of repair including but not limited to parts and labor.
Lost/ Stolen Equipment Fee - Renters are responsible for all costs of replacement for equipment that is lost or stolen. If the exact item is no longer available, a similar product will be purchased as it's replacement. Equipment not returned after 14 days past the drop-off date will be considered lost/ stolen.
Cleaning Fee - All items that are not dry and free of foreign substances will be assessed a $10 cleaning fee for each item.
Cancellation Fee - Reservations cancelled at least 48 hours before the pick-up time will receive a full refund. Reservations cancelled at least 24 hours before the pick-up will receive 1/2 of the deposit. Reservations cancelled less than 24 hours before the pick-up are not eligible for a refund. No rainchecks however, GVSU reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to weather and will refund the full deposit.
