The most helpful aspects of my undergraduate education in mathematics were: While I still get to use integration by parts for my actuarial certification exams, the skill that I use the most is general problem solving. Learning how to approach a problem from different perspectives, and learning how to try again after you fail, are keys to success in my field.

In a typical day in my work, I: work for an actuarial consulting firm, and manage a team that audits Defined Benefit pension plans.
