Portrait of My Community
On September 18, 2014, the Kutsche Office of Local History and the
Cook Library Center celebrated the first anniversary of the Cook
Library Scholars Program. The event showcased their year-long effort
to document the history of leadership and community on Grandville Avenue.

the community leadership featured as part of the exhibit. This program
is a part of the Kutsche Office of Local History's Youth Leadership
Initiative. The community documentation and exhibit project was a
collaboration among the GVSU Kutsche Office of Local History,
Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities, and the Grand Rapids Public
