Engaging the Community Part Two: Newsletters and Email Networking
Date and Time
Wednesday, October 4, 2017 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Description
From sending out postcards and mailings to home addresses or
newsletters to email addresses, organizations hope their messages are
well received. This two-hour long workshop will discuss best practices
for mailings (digital and print) as well as various applications for
the creation of these materials. Participants will discuss effective
strategies to maintain their core message, continue relationships with
community members, and invite new
community members to participate
in their work.
Grant Stancliff is a political and nonprofit communicator currently working on winning hearts and minds for state-level progressive policy. He has a background in messaging the ideas of social justice movements, including violence prevention, the impacts of institutional racism, and the intersection of LGBTQ issues in these realms. He has designed and implemented social marketing campaigns aimed at the public good within public health frameworks. Formally, he was the managing editor of Partners in Social Change and the online editor of The Easterner.
We strongly recommend bringing a laptop or tablet to allow for full participation (we will not have computers available). Feel free to bring relevant promotional materials from your organization for feedback.
This workshop is free and open to the public, however registration is required. Please contact the Kutsche Office of Local History at: 616-331-8099, or at [email protected]
