Skill Sets Required:
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
*Writing Skills-the ability to condense large amounts of data into concise detailed descriptions
*Passionate about history
*Interest in the Civil War
Upcoming Projects/Needs:
*Research of forgotten Civil War Memorials around West Michigan
-contacting local historical organizations & using microfilm

*Cataloguing boxes of data into a usable Excel database
-scanning documents & digitizing them

*Participating & engaging in the education program “Bedrolls & Bonnets-Life in the Civil War” at local schools with Bruce
-updating a study guide used in classrooms
-“Together We Can Do It” service learning project

History Remembered/Sons of the Union Veterans will provide/train in the following areas:
*Demonstrate how to conduct research using micro-film and the internet
*Basic Archival training because of their connection with an archivist at Ohio State
The Kutsche Office will provide/train in the following areas:
*Archival Logistic DVD Lectures/Training Manual
*The application process & interview process
