Rapidian Session for Nonprofits

The new citizen journalist site The Rapidian is hosting information sessions for their Nonprofit Neighbors.  These sessions will discuss out to use this feature on the site and how to take full advantage of The Rapidian.  They will also be a chance to meet other Rapidian participants.  The first is a "brown bag" series on The Rapidian is Monday, October 22nd at 12:00 p.m.  The second  will be Wednesday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m.  Each will be held at 1110 Wealthy St (Rapidian main office) and will last from 60-90 minutes.  Please contact  info@rapidian.org to register or call  (616) 459-4788 x.124.


Johnson Center Signs Diversity Compact

The Johnson Center has signed the Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Compact October 8, 2009. The Nonprofit Workforce Coalition Diversity and Inclusion Committee has drafted a Diversity and Inclusion Compact for the nonprofit sector. The goal of the Compact is to help organizations prioritize and provide resources for ensuring the diversity and inclusion of Compact signing organizations. You can download a printable version of the compact material by going to www.humanics.org. The Compact was featured in the recent Chronicle of Philanthropy Diversity issue ( http://philanthropy.com/premium/articles/v21/i21/21d01102.htm )


New Capacity Building Grant for Small Nonprofits

The Michigan Nonprofit Association and the Johnson Center for Philanthropy are pleased to announce two exciting capacity building opportunities for community and faith based nonprofit organizations with budgets less than $500,000.
