Lauren Bettcher was awarded a $1000 Meeting Professionals International College Education Scholarship for her outstanding performance in school and the meeting planning industry where she has completed several successful internships and planned multiple events for her sorority.
------------------------------------------------------- West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum Scholarship - $5,000 - American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation Scholarships Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau Education Foundation Scholarship - Qualifications include a Michigan resident, full time degree-seeking student majoring in Hospitality and Tourism in the College of Community and Public Service with a cumulative grade point of 3.0 or greater and financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA. Candidates will make application to the HTM Depa rtment on the forms available here. Recipients and initiating donors will be recognized at the annual Scholarship Celebration Dinner. Application Form Available here National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation - Deadline March 20. In 2009, the NRAEF Scholarships Program will award $1.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing an education in restaurant and foodservice-related studies. PCMA Professional Convention Management Association - scholarships available for student members. Roy B. Evans Scholarship, a tuition-based $5,000 scholarship will be granted to five students each year. Applications for this year must be postmarked September 15. Marriott Scholars Program - Scholarship is good for individual awards for full tuition up to $9,000. Application deadline is January 31, 2009. Applicants must: be of Hispanic/Latino heritage, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico, plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student during the 2009-2010 school year in an, accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. with a hospitality management or culinary program, plan to pursue a degree within the hospitality management, hotel management, culinary, or food and beverage field, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. Application can be found at http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org. RBIEF Recreational Boating Industries Educational Foundation - AWARD: $500 - $2,500. DEADLINE: March 15, 2009. REQUIREMENTS: Enrolled at an Accredited college/university, Michigan resident preferred, Priority to those who desire to pursue a career in the Michigan boating industry, 2 letters of reference Applications are available at www.mbia.org. The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani (GRI)/Giacomo Bologna will award six recipients an all-expense paid trip to Italy under the auspices of GRI. This trip, from New York to Italy, will include travel and lodging as well as educational culinary/wine seminars and viticulture workshops. Personal and incidental expenses are not included in the award.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to Italian viticulture and be a full-time student enrolled in a college or culinary arts program.
