PROCEDURES TO PETITION FOR WAIVER OF HTM 290 You will need to submit to the HTM department You need to convince the department that you have had more than just hours of work in the hospitality industry. HTM 290 has a significant academic component based on development of skills, reflection and observation. Therefore, we will be expecting you to address these issues in your paper. Please Note: In order to have adequate time to process your waiver request we ask that you give the faculty plenty of time to review your petition. Please be sure that your information is in to the department NO LATER than the following dates prior to the semester you would like to register for the internship. If we receive your materials later than the deadline, you will not be under consideration for a waiver until the following semester. If enrolling in an internship for: Petition must be submitted by: *It should be noted that the purpose of the HTM 290 waiver is to acknowledge the experience level of students who have already been employed in the hospitality industry and have greatly exceeded the hours of experience required with HTM 290. The waiver does not constitute credit - no credit is earned for waiving the requirement
