Job Summary

Oversee shipping and receiving of selected product, including merchandise transfers between store locations. Provide backup and support to IT Operations Assistant.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee operation of technology acquisition receiving area: logging and distributing U.S. Mail, UPS/Fed Ex shipments, Office Depot shipments and freight deliveries. Maintain a clean and organized area.
  • Supervise unloading and logging of truck shipments. Notify appropriate individuals of discrepancies and/or damage.
  • Produce receiving documents, record merchandise counts, and note discrepancies between purchase order and packing slips.
  • Coordinate in-person technology pickups with departments.
  • Pick up and deliver mail to IT offices.
  • Make daily run between Allendale, Grand Rapids, and satellite campuses.
  • Enter receiving data in information technology procurement software and print delivery location and warranty labels. 
  • Assist with returns, verify quantities, and complete shipping paperwork.
  • Responsible for physical technology inventory.
  • Provide high level of customer service for all technology acquisition by responding to customer requests, questions, and complaints and assist in resolving problems.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student and temporary employees.
  • Knowledge of technology hardware and software.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, databases, inventory ticketing software, and Team Dynamix.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Experience in Banner and OnBase.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
