Job Summary

Performs general clerical duties, receptionist duties and processing of daily payment runs for the Business Office. Expected hours are from 8:00am to 12:00pm Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions

  • Answer phone and greet public.
  • Process daily check disbursements in the Business and Finance office.
  • Print and mail the excess financial aid disbursements.
  • Final quality control of university invoice payments and special handling checks.
  • Electronic payment verification via phone calls to vendors.
  • Handle high volume of vendor banking information.
  • Responsible for maintaining sealing machine.
  • Responsible for folding and sealing of all check payments.
  • Book rooms for training sessions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Maintain and update procedures manual.
  • Assist in the scanning and indexing of University documents in Business and Finance.
  • Oversee distribution of mail for the Business and Finance office.
  • Order and maintain office supplies for the Business and Finance office.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
