While most freshmen reside in living centers situated on the north side of campus (traditional-style, suite-style, one-bedroom apartment-style, and two-bedroom apartment-style units), we do have many freshmen who opt to participate in Living-Learning Communities or reside in designated Laker Village 2-Bedroom/4-Person units reserved for freshmen on the south side of campus.
You may select " Two Bedroom/Four Person Laker Village " as a housing preference via the myHousing Application or via the myHousing Overview if you have previously submitted a housing application. The option can be found under "Freshman Housing Options".
Laker Village units are townhouse style apartments with a full kitchen and living room on the first floor and two bedrooms and one bathroom on the second floor.
The furniture provided in a Laker Village 2 Bedroom/4 Person Unit includes one bed, one dresser, one desk and one desk chair and one kitchen chair per person as well as one couch, one armchair, and one kitchen table per unit. Additionally, the kitchen includes a full size refrigerator and stove. Students must provide their own dishes, cooking utensils, etc.
Just as in Living Centers on north campus, freshmen who reside in Living-Learning Communities or in Laker Village participate in Transitions Orientation and are assigned to a Resident Assistant. The semester rate for Laker Village does not include the 14+ meal plan, but students may opt to purchase a meal plan directly from Campus Dining.
