This site provides the GVSU community with easy access to university-wide administrative policies that have been approved by the President's Cabinet. These policies support the University's mission, vision and values, and set expectations for the administrative operation of the institution. In keeping with the GVSU focus on environmental stewardship and efficient use of resources, the Grand Valley Manual will be maintained as a web site rather than in printed form.
The Administrative Manual is the official web site for policies approved by the Board of Trustees and the Grand Valley Manual is the official source for University-wide administrative policies approved by the President's Cabinet. (Refer to the Policy Hierarchy for further information about the GVSU policy structure.) Other policies at the University must not conflict with the Administrative Manual or the Grand Valley Manual.
Additional documents that contain University policies include: Faculty Handbook, AP Handbook, Other Employment Handbooks, Employment Contracts, Undergraduate & Graduate Catalog, and the Student Code. Consult unit web sites for departmental policies and procedures.
Grand Valley State University educates students to shape their lives, their professions, and their societies. The University contributes to the enrichment of society through excellent teaching, active scholarship, and public service.
