Description of the Organization

DornerWorks makes custom electronics (hardware & software) for all kinds of industries. It's a small company of "embedded systems" engineers.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I worked on a single-board computer that drives an LCD touch-screen. I was in charge of testing and fixing the board as it developed into a final product. Also, I did quite a bit of work with Microsoft Office; I prepared quite a few diagrams for people's presentations.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned more about embedded systems, and how certain components of embedded computers are used.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part was getting to know all of the people I work with better. Last co-op semester, I met only a handful of people. This time, I've worked on multiple projects with multiple engineers.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

It's helped me realize that I want to be a manager in engineering. I have people skills that many engineers don't, and I really want to exploit them.
