Most of the following scholarship applications may be completed by filling out a single consolidated scholarship application form. It is important, however, to read the details of each of the following scholarships before completing this form to ensure a complete understanding of each scholarship's requirements. Seymour and Esther Padnos Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental issues
  • ACT math subscore of at least 27
  • ACT composite score of at least 25
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • FAFSA form submitted
  • Completed admissions application materials to GVSU by March 1.

    Amount: $2500 - Renewable

FIRST Robotics Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.3
  • Participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition
  • ACT composite score of at least 26
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Completed admissions application materials to GVSU by March 1

Amount: $4000 - Renewable

Joseph E. Appelt, P.E. Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental issues
  • ACT math subscore of at least 26

  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Completed admissions application materials to GVSU by March 1

Amount: $500

Price-Heneveld Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • ACT math subscore of at least 27
  • ACT composite score of at least 25
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Financial need will be considered in the review process
  • Completed admissions application materials to GVSU by March 1

Amount: $500 Renewable for one additional year

GVSU/Padnos/MSPE Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0 for 10th and 11th grades
  • ACT composite score of at least 26

Amount: $1500
Selection: By MSPE
Application: Contact your high school counselor or contact the
Michigan Society of Professional Engineers or download the application form from the MSPE web site at http://www.michiganspe.org/scholarship.htm.

Application due to local MSPE chapter scholarship chair by the second Monday in January (list of chapter contacts on the application form on the MSPE web)


 GVSU/Padnos/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors intending to pursue a degree in engineering on a full-time basis and must have been admitted to Grand Valley State University - application for admission to GVSU must be completed by January 15

Amount: $1,000. The recipient may apply for renewal for the sophomore year

Selection: By School of Engineering

Application: Contact your high school counselor or contact the Society of Automotive Engineers or visit their university sponsored scholarships web page at http://students.sae.org/awdscholar/scholarships/

Application due to SAE between September 1 and December 1


 Kirkhof Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • ACT math subscore of at least 26
  • ACT composite score of at least 23
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Completed admissions application materials to GVSU by March 1

Amount: Up to $1000 for the first year; up to $2000 per year as an upper-class student

Bosch Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • ACT math subscore of at least 26
  • ACT composite score of at least 26
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Applied for admission to GVSU as a degree seeking student in engineering
  • FAFSA form submitted

Amount: $500, renewable
Important Note: This scholarship may not be available each year. Check with the School of Engineering to determine availability before application.

General Dynamics Land Systems Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Requirements for entering freshmen:
  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0
  • ACT math subscore of at least 27
  • ACT composite score of at least 25
  • At least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Applied for admission to GVSU as a degree seeking student in engineering by March 1 and have been accepted
  • FAFSA form submitted

 

Requirements for current college students:
Be a current engineering student or have applied for admission to Grand Valley State University prior to February 1 and have been accepted by Grand Valley FAFSA form submitted
Amount: $1500
Selection: By faculty committee of the School of Engineering

Scott M. Dykstra Oliver Products Company Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility:
Requirements for entering freshmen:

  • Minimum HS GPA of 3.0

  • Applied for admission to GVSU as a degree seeking student in engineering by

Carol A. Ratza Memorial Scholarship
(To recognize outstanding achievement and
vision in electronic communications technology)

Sponsored by the Great Lakes Commission
Applications due by March 31

Criteria:

  • Open to high school seniors and current college students who will be enrolled at a Great Lakes college or university in Fall 2005

  • Students should have an interest in electronic communication technology and its applications in the Great Lakes Region

National Society of Professional Engineers Scholarships
