PRODUCT DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING


Students selecting the product design and manufacturing engineering emphasis are expected to have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline as well as having an interest in new product development and manufacturing.

The course requirements for the product design and manufacturing engineering emphasis are shown in the following table.

Three of the following four courses must be taken for 9 credits:

Note that students in this depth area are required to complete electives as follows:

     EGR 692/693 Capstone or EGR 696/697 Capstone (9 credit hours of electives)
     EGR 690 Capstone (15 credit hours of electives)

Students are encouraged to consider electives in mechanical engineering and manufacturing operations, as well as computer science, statistics, and the Seidman College of Business. In addition, the fourth product design and manufacturing engineering course may be taken as an elective.
