Digital Studies Minor Requirements (21 CREDITS)

The Digital Studies program is a modular curriculum that allows you to customize your experience in the minor based on your interests and your major.

Core Courses (2 courses = 6 CREDITS)

  • DS 201 — Digital Identities and Communities  Credits: 3 (Fulfills Foundations - Social and Behavioral Sciences)
  • DS 202  — Digital Data and Design  Credits: 3

The core courses will introduce you to the field of digital studies and help you to select your path in the modules.

Module Courses (Complete 2 courses in each module = 12 CREDITS*)

*Students must take two courses from different disciplines in the “Tools and Production” module, and at least one Digital Studies designated course in the “Digital Culture” module. With approval from the Director of Digital Studies, students may complete DS 490 Digital Studies Internship* in place of one of the two required module courses.  When selecting the courses in the modules, two in "Tools and Production" and two in the "Digital Culture" module, think about which ones best help you to shape your path to make the minor supplement your major. If you are uncertain about which courses to choose, contact the program director, Laurence José, ([email protected]), who will be happy to meet with you to help you plan.
