Get Involved

The preliminary activities of the Design Thinking Initiative at Grand Valley State University will be to provide awareness and understanding of design thinking within Grand Valley and the community.

Working Groups

A small working/planning group will be formed to see what might evolve in our curriculum and co-curricular activities, including identifying existing classes and brainstorming additional curricular plans. The group will also imagine what other opportunities could be envisioned for the community and our partners to foster design thinking as an integral method for problem-solving.

With some suggested plans/actions, the planning group will seek input from a larger group of interested students, faculty members, administrators, and community representatives. With that input, specific actions can be taken to move the Grand Valley initiative forward.

Speakers

Grand Valley will host a Design Thinking Speaker Series featuring nationally renowned experts to foster discussion and inquiry about design thinking, using it to address the challenges faced in West Michigan and beyond. Check Upcoming Events for information.

Assist in the Planning

If you are interested in any of the sessions planned to provide feedback or ideas to the planning group, contact John Berry.

As speakers, workshops, or "Boot Camps" develop, those will be posted in Upcoming Events at gvsu.edu/designthinking/events.
