Approach to Therapy: My priority as a therapist is to create a genuine relationship with my clients in which they feel safe to openly explore themselves and their experiences. My therapeutic approach is integrative in nature; I seek to understand how my clients’ past and present relationships, patterns of thinking and feeling, present coping mechanisms, past traumas, strengths, and multicultural identities may be utilized to understand present concerns and enact effective and meaningful change. I do not believe that there is a “one-size fits all" approach to therapy. In this respect, I encourage my clients to be the leaders of our work together, while I collaboratively help to meet their individualized needs and treatment goals.
