Sustainability Scholarship Offered

 The College of Interdisciplinary Studies, in partnership with Nichols Corporation, is offering two $500 scholarships for the 2009-10 academic year. The money, along with an endowment to continue funding the scholarship was offered to GVSU by Nichols this past year. Nichols is a major Western Michigan distributor focusing on the industrial, institutional, health care and lodging markets (http://www.enichols.com). They specialize in two main product areas: Packaging, Production Supplies and Equipment; Paper, Sanitary Supplies and Equipment. They offer a comprehensive Green and Clean program that not only includes green products for facilities maintenance but also offers education, training and support to help companies implement green policies.

Scholarship recipients are expected to be involved with ongoing campus and community sustainability efforts, working in concert with Norman Christopher, Director of GVSU's Sustainability Initiative.
