RESEARCH FOCUS
In Russian Literature I work in the areas of Romanticism, the poets Tyodor Tiutchev, Karolina Pavlova, and Bella Akhmadulina; Nabokov; Nestor Kukolnik; and H. G. Wells in Russia.
I am currently interested in the contemporary Polish novelist, Pawel Huelle, and have given numerous presentations on his prose.
Recent Awards and Honors

2005 - The Student Activities Award for Faculty Excellence from the students of Grand Valley State University, February 2005.

2004 - Outstanding Honors College Faculty Award

2002 - Invitation by Student Senate to deliver a lecture to the student body in "The Last Lecture Series", December 2002.

The Gannon Center for Women and Leadership of Loyola University, Chicago has requested that I donate my papers to be included in an archive devoted to my academic life and works.
