Position Title: Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Analytical), Tenure Track, Starting Aug, 2014
Qualifications: The position requires a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research. A doctoral degree is preferred. Candidates who have nearly finished their doctoral degree (ABD) may be considered for initial hire at the Instructor level with completion required by August 4, 2015. Preference will be given to candidates whose scholarship complements existing expertise in the department. The Department values candidates who demonstrate an ability to work in a collaborative environment with a diverse population of colleagues and students.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching in all areas of the analytical curriculum (majors courses, service courses, lectures, labs) as well as general chemistry and other courses in the area of expertise. Tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain an active scholarship program that includes mentoring undergraduate research students, and are also expected to contribute service to the Department, College, University, and/or community. Salary: The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. GVSU salaries are competitive with excellent benefits. Limited research start-up funding is available from the College.
