Bus Satisfaction Survey 2009 (4/10/09)
Dear GVSU Campus Community,

Thanks to each of you we will again surpass 2 million riders for the 2008-2009 school year!

To make the next year as successful as this one, we have created a Bus Satisfaction Survey.  We ask that you participate in completing the survey.   This survey is anonymous and we truly appreciate your thoughts to assist us in making the bus service better for your transportation.
You may access the survey at:

Silver Line Rapid Transit System (3/13/09)
What is the Silver Line? Silver Line rapid transit system is more like a light rail system than a traditional bus. A proven solution in other communities, it will maximize ridership opportunities, economic development and travel-time savings. Silver Line vehicles will use:

- Dedicated lanes during peak times
- In-station fare collected to speed boarding
- Intelligent transportation system applications such as signal priority allowing quick travel between stations

The proposed service will run from 60th Street on South Division north until Wealthy Street and then run throughout the downtown Grand Rapids area.

New Link: West Michigan Transit Linkages Study
(11/5/08)
In February 2007, Ottawa County was awarded a Service Development and New Technology (SDNT) Grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).  The SDNT Grant will be utilized to complete a needs assessment and feasibility study of commuter transit services in the West Michigan area.  Grand Valley State University will assist Ottawa County with the facilitation and coordination of the study. Campus Challenge! September 22 through September 26 (9/15/08)
Compete with campuses around Michigan to see who are the greenest commuters. Campuses will be competing to see who can make the most trips to and from campus using a mode other than one person driving alone in a car.

To participate, register at Grand Valley's
GreenRide website. Create a profile, and then click on the "CommuterTracker" button. For each day the week of September 22, select how you commuted to and from GVSU.

The goal is to have the most alternative commutes -- trips taken in anything besides the "one person one car" model. The campus that has the most alternate commutes for its size wins!

To begin, go to GVSU's new
GreenRide website and create your profile.

Adding Bus to Route 50!
(9/9/08)
We are adding another bus from 7a - 10p on the Campus Connector!  It will be added for Monday - Friday (Friday, it will stop at 6p as the others do for the Weekend Connector to start).  The frequency will change from every 7 minutes to every 6 minutes. This additional bus will start Wednesday morning 9/10/08.
