Disability and ableism are critically examined through an anthropological lens, problematizing normative cultural paradigm of embodiment. An analytic framework is used to understand disability in diverse cross-cultural settings; how it is shaped socially (through identities of race, class, gender, sexuality), medically, politically, and situated within histories.
