Dr. Hull is a Cultural Anthropologist specializing in Maya region of Mexico, specifically changing gender roles and culture change in Yucatan.  Current research on rural Michigan farming communities; Additional  research on Pohnpei Island, Micronesia. Dr Hull retires after the fall 2012 semester.

Dr. Hull recently published an ethnography, Chippewa Lake: A Community in Search of an Identity (Michigan State University Press, 2012), following research in a rural Michigan community.  Research team included six anthropology majors.  Professor Hull will retire at the end of fall semester 2012, after 21 years at GVSU.
