Description

Young Professionals in Higher Education invites you to an interactive event covering important aspects of Impostor Syndrome led by Dr. Wendy Burns-Ardolino, Graduate Program Director and Professor at GVSU. Impostor Syndrome is a by-product of a culture of achievement. It may be surprising to learn that some of the most accomplished professionals struggle with Impostor Syndrome. Pauline Rose Clance began studying Impostor Syndrome in 1978, yet it remains an ongoing problem facing many different types of people. People of color, women, and LGBTQ+ people typically experience Impostor Syndrome at higher rates; however, many well known leaders and executives note that Impostor Syndrome can be leveraged to make better leaders. We will discuss the elements of Impostor Syndrome, complete a quick self-evaluation, and discuss strategies for leveraging and/or overcoming Impostor Syndrome in our professional lives.

Join us, Thursday, November 14 from 12 - 1:30 p.m. at the GVSU Eberhard Center, Room 203.
